Paul Miller Racing Has Strong First Half of the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring

March 15, 2016

Paul Miller Racing had a strong first half of the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring, despite a red flag that stopped the race for more than two hours. Bryce Miller (Summit, N.J.) drove the first stint in the No. 48 Castrol/UIS Lamborghini Huracán GT3, starting 13th on the IMSA WeatherTech Sports Car Championship GTD grid. He moved up four positions in heavy traffic in the first hour of the race, then handed off to Madison Snow (Lehi, Utah).

Snow took the class lead at 1h21, just as rain started. He led for most of the next hour, but relinquished the lead as track conditions deteriorated. The race was stopped just before the three-hour mark, when lightning and standing water on the track made for treacherous racing, and restarted a few minutes into the sixth hour. Snow was third in class at the halfway mark of the race, happily racing in the rain.

“It was fun to watch the conditions change, adapt to it and see what I could do,” he said. “There was a mix between no rain – when the tires would get pretty hot, the pressures would go up and I’d lose grip – and then when the rain came down, it got better. It was about trying to get the tires under you when it was dry, but you still wanted to push hard to catch the guy ahead of you. Rain is a lot of fun, for sure! It adds a lot of excitement.”
